April Sale Events!

We’ve got so much going on in April…

Erin Templeton Trunk Sale
If you’re free on Tuesday, April 3rd from 5-8pm, come by Robber to meet Erin Templeton, one of our favorite Canadian designers. She’s going to bring a whole bunch of leather goodies that we’ve never had in stock and they’ll all be 25% off for one night only!  And just to sweeten the deal if you have your eye on something special at Robber, we’ll be discounting Spring items for the evening!

The Bazaar
We’re so excited to be participating in The Bazaar, an amazing shopping event put together by our pals at Rac Boutique. Join us for the opening night party from 6-11pm on April 5th, or drop by over the weekend for a new Easter outfit! We’ll be bringing some new items and some pieces from previous seasons and you won’t want to miss the deals!

Earning Our Stripes

If you’ve ever visited our store, you might have noticed our penchant for stripes. Horizontal, vertical, oblong and angular – we can’t resist anything along those lines! Well, it seems like NOW Magazine picked up on our little secret, and featured some of our stripey goodness from Margaret Howell and Me & Arrow (as well as non-striped beauties from Wood Wood and F-Troupe) in an article about irregular stripes. Check it out here!

Introducing: Dana Lee

“Classics get more wear, and I believe that it is important not to waste. I want to create clothing that is useful.”

After many seasons of admiring her beautiful lookbooks (all shot by the uber-talented Jody Rogac), Robber is proud to welcome New York-based (via Vancouver) menswear designer Dana Lee to the store for Spring 2012.

Dana’s clothes are simple and classic, with a lived-in vintage feel and a focus on texture, colour, and finish. She compares her designs to old furniture and aspires to make things that never go out of style and can be “used often and for a really long time” until they develop their own patina and character. These clothes are unembellished, even modest, but they have integrity and their own subtle, offbeat wit. If they were people, you’d want to get to know them. And another secret: lots of her stuff also looks great on women, too.

For Spring, Dana’s chosen a washed-out, natural palette with a bit of a tropical adventure flavour — the colours have names like tabasco, celery, eucalyptus, and sky — with lots of open-weave fabrics and relaxed fits. Perfect for sipping caesars in your bamboo hut on a remote beachfront. Check out her Spring video lookbook to get a feeling for where she’s coming from:

New shoes from F-Troupe and Filippa K

Our first new footwear for Spring is here! Two styles each for men and women in sandy, warm-weather tones. The Filippa K desert boots are a particular staff favourite: the metal eyelets, hand-stitched welt, round laces, and heavy crepe sole really elevate them above the standard dune-kicker.

Men:

Filippa K Owen suede desert boot, $279

New From Samantha Pleet

Brooklyn darling and Robber favourite Samantha Pleet has lightened up a bit! Her Spring line still has a touch of the witchy mysticism of her recent Fall/Winter collection, but she’s traded the dark gothic vibe for a hazy, sun-drenched pastoral flavour. As always, handmade with love in New York City.
